And while we’re at it, how about some updates?

I’m sure you’ve been waiting with bated breath for updates on some of my “projects”, so here we go…

Technitium – It was great, but once I deployed my new Ubiquiti network, I pretty much retired it, at least for the time being.  Ubiquiti apparently has an “internal DNS” thing that I am going to look into using for certain things, but I have yet to pursue it.  Who knows, maybe I’ll spin Technitium up again one of these days.

Immich – It’s been working great for what I need it to do, which is finding my photos and videos, doing face recognition on them, and identifying duplicates.  It also has a function by which I can tell it to eliminate the duplicates it finds but I am not yet that brave.  It does have a cool “memories” function, sort of like Facebook, so that’s a nice – but unnecessary – plus.  Here’s a screen shot of the application that I just created, to give you a general idea of what it looks like.

Grocy – Still running, still haven’t touched it.

Notifications – After considering Matrix and Nextcloud Talk to replace the notification functionality I had been running on my Discord server, I finally landed on ntfy.  It’s not everything I wanted it to be but it’s not bad either.  And, big plus, it seamlessly pops notifications to my phone for the things I want it to pop on.  I’ve since stopped using Discord for the purposes of notifications, which means I’m pretty much not using it much at all any longer.  That’s pretty much the way things should be these days.

Ubiquiti – Running well, still figuring out how I’m gonna string a CAT6 cable through the wall up to my kitchen so I can move the AP up there.  Also considering deploying a 2nd AP in my garage.  If I do that, I may just leave the existing AP in the basement.  Will see how it goes.  I am also feverishly waiting for the Pro Max 16 Rack Mount to be restocked; it appears that may happen late this month or sometime in May.  I stand ready to pull the trigger when the time comes!

And there you have it.  Hope you enjoyed!
