Ensure a login to the appropriate registry is enabled, especially for private repos:

Build and push the image:

  docker build -t [registry fqdn]/[username]/[image_name]:[tag]
    Example: docker build -t www.github.com/fred/awesome_image:v1.0.0 .
  docker push [registry fqdn]/[username]/[image_name]:[tag]
    Example: docker push www.github.com/fred/awesome_image:v1.0.0
